The
list of the standing Board Committees of the MukiBaum Treatment
Centres includes:
Executive - assumes board responsibilities between Board meetings. It provides
counsel to the Executive Director and sets up agenda for each
Board meeting. The Committee communicates issues as required
to the larger Board between Board meetings.
Finance – oversees
the overall financial well-being of the Treatment Centres, reviews
and scrutinizes the annual budgets, and provides
direction and support for future MukiBaum Treatment Centres'
financial planning. The Committee continuously audits the Treatment
Centres’ financial performance and reports to the Board about Treatment
Centres' financial situation. It also makes recommendations to the Board concerning
the future financial development of the MukiBaum Treatment Centres.
Governance
and Policy – provides
leadership regarding Board governance, assists new members in
orientation and reviews current governance
procedures, producing recommendations as required. The Committee
is responsible for the development of new policies and periodical
reviews of existing policies.
Nominating – is
responsible for the research, recruitment, and evaluation of
candidates to the board. It meets on an as needed basis when
a new candidate to the Board is identified. It reviews the
candidate’s
resume and meets with him/her to discuss Board membership. Based
on the outcome of the nomination process, the committee makes
its recommendations to the Board.
Strategic
Planning – champions
the vision and ensures the Treatment Centres is constantly looking
ahead, identifying new opportunities, assessing
new possibilities and directions in which to grow. Involved in
developing a strategic plan, which would then be presented to
the Board.
Corporate
Fundraising – provides
strategic planning and guidance on identifying sources of funding
and on new strategies for donation
solicitation. Makes efforts to increase support base.
Communication/Marketing – identifies
efficient communications and public relations strategies, that
lead to greater name recognition of the Treatment Centres among
the healthcare professionals and corporate communities and
the general
public. The Committee directs efforts that highlight the activities
of the Treatment
Centres and
communicate its messages to the public through local and national
media.
