January 11, 2010Community Outreach Program - Starting February 21st, 2010...
It has become evident to us, more and more, that there is a strong demand for increased supports from families in the community who have children with complex disabilities. A number of individuals have approached us to ask if we offer any programs outside of our day and residential programs which are limited to Toronto and the GTA.
Dr. Baum decided to create a Volunteer Based Community Outreach Program for children and adults from the community and their families. The idea behind the program is that families will participate together and receive support and education in the areas of:
- Art
- Music - vocal and instrumental
- Dance
- Sports and Recreation
- Drama
- Virtual Reality
- Yoga
- Sensory Therapy
In partnership with the South Asian Autism Awareness Centre, we are proud to be launching this crucial program on Sunday, February 21st, 2010 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
The Community Outreach Program is open to all children and adults ages 5 yrs. old and up with complex disabilities, such as Autism, and their families. The program will include 12 sessions for $150.00 / child (with a disability). Family members are encouraged to attend free of charge.
